Effects of Exogenous Regulators on The Growth and Physiology of Lychee Seedlings under Low-Temperature Stress

Abstract:【Objective】To compare the growth and physiological responses of lycheesedlings to low-temperature stress underdiffrentexogenous regulatortreatmentsandtoexploreregulators thatcanenhancethecoldresistanceoflyhee.【Methods】Using orthogonal experimentaldesign,thestudyanalyzedthechanges in growthand physiologicaland biochemical indicators of lychee seedlings after low-temperature stress under 16 treatments combining 0~4mg/L brassinolide, 0~150mg/L (20 calcium nitrate,and 0-100mg/L spermidine.【Results】 Compared with the control,any of the tested exogenous regulator treatments significantly increased seedling height.The maximum height increment was observed under the treatment of 4mg/L brassinolide +50mg/L calciumnitrate +50mg/L spermidine,with an increase of 245.5% over the control. The correlation betweenseedling height growthandchlorophyllcontent wasthemostsignificant,andchlorophyllcontent wassignificantlycorre lated with the activities of SODand POD,aswellas withthecontents of soluble sugar,soluble protein,andfree proline. Comprehensive evaluation through principal componentanalysis indicated thatthe growthandphysiologicalperformanceof ly chee seedlings under low-temperature stress was optimal under treatments of 2~4mg/L brassinolide +50mg/L calcium nitrate *50~100mg/L spermidine. 【Conclusion】 In the future,scientifically applying a composite regulator composed of brassinolide,calciumnitrate,andspermidinecanachievegoodcultivationresultsinenhancingthecoldresistanceoflycheesedlings in Lianjiang,Guangdong.
