聚乙二醇處理對杞柳軟化效果的影響

Abstract:Salix integra isanvaluablerawmaterialin the wickerwork industry with higheconomic value.However, when Salix integra isstoredfor extended periods,itoften experiences splitingduring weaving,whichnegativelyaffects production eficiencyand resource utilization.In this study,polyethylene glycol(PEG)with molecular weights ranging from 600 to 6OOO were used as modifiers to soften Salix integra through avacuum impregnation process at aconcentration of 20% .The effects of diferent PEG molecular weights on the physicaland mechanical properties,chemical structure, micro morphology,andthermal stabilityof Salix integra wereanalyzed.Theresults demonstrated that vacuum impregnationPEG modification significantly improved thebending propertiesof Salix integra,with the mostnotableeffectobserved for the lower molecular weight PEG.After treatment with PEG6OO,the weight percentage rate and densityof the Salixintegra increasedsubstantially,whileitsrigiditydecreasedandflexibilitywasmarkedlyenhanced.Notably,the material exhibited exceptional resistance to spliting,as no breakage occurred even when the bending strain exceeded threetimes thatofuntreated Salix integra.This improved performance wasatributed tothemore effective penetrationof lower molecular weightPEG intothe Salix integra,which formedadditional hydrogen bonds with thehydroxyl groups in cellulosefibers,thereby enhancing the bending properties of Salix integra.Furthermore,PEG modification also enhancedthe thermal stabilityof Salix integra.Inconclusion,PEG6OO was the most efective modifier for softening Salix integra.This method can provide superiorperformance supportfor theutilizationof Salix integrain wickerwork and other applications.
