Risk Assessment of Hail Damage at Different Growth Stages of Flue-Cured Tobacco in Fujian

Abstract: Therisofhaildamage wasasssedbasedondaysofhailoccurrence,tbacoplantingarea,eectiveleafnumberand insurancecompensationcoeficientinFujian.Thehaildamageriskindexwascalculatedwiththeriskofhaildamage,tobacofeld exposure,andtobaccoplant vulnerability.Thehaildamageriskassessment wascariedoutforfivegrowthstagesof tobacco, includingrootetesioperodigorosgowthriod,earlyaturitypriodiddleatritypiod,dlateaturityde results showedthat therisklevelofFujiantobaccoduring thevigorous growth periodandearlymaturityperiod was higher,adthe exposure levelofhaildamage intheborderareabetwensouthernNanpingandnorthemLongyan was higher.Thevulnerabilitylevel of tobacco plants duringthe vigorous growthperiodandearly maturityperodwasalsohigher.Theriskofhaildamage fromhighto lowisintheorderof vigorousgrowth period>earlymaturityperiod>middle maturityperiod>root extensionperiod>lateaturity period.The vigorous growth periodandearly maturity periodare high-risk periods for hail damageandhigh vulnerablty,sothe disaster prevention measures needs to be strengthened atthese stages.Thecomprehensive hail damagerisk in the whole growth periodis mildandthe moderateandabovehaildamageriskareaislocatedintheborderareaofFujianandJiangxiProvince,othe layoutof flue-cured tobacco planting should be properly optimized.
