Synthesis of Spinel CuCo2O4 and Its Application in Photothermal-assisted Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction

Abstract:The development of photothermal effect-asssted oxygen evolution reaction(OER)catalysts is an effective way to enhance OER performance. A nanoflower-like CuCo2O4 (CuCc ′2 O4/NF)loaded on nickel foam(NF)was prepared and used for photothermal-assisted electrocatalytic OER,and its reaction kinetics was investigated. The results show that CuCo ′2 0 4 /NF exhibits enhanced OER performance under near-infrared light irradiation (NIR, 2W?cm-2 )in 1.0 mol/L KOH,with overpotential and Tafel slope of 348.1mV and 63.7mV?dec-1 at 20mA?cm-2 ,respectively, which are 31.1mV and 12. 6 (204號 mV?dec-1 lower as compared with that under conventional conditions. In simulated seawater,the overpotential and Tafel slope of CuCo2O4/NF at 20mA?cm-2 under NIR light irradiation are reduced by 45.0mV and 11.6mV?dec-1 ,respectively. The photothermal effect facilitates the generation of active sites,thereby demonstrating enhanced OER performance.
