Abstract： [Purposes] This paper explores the correlation between patent activities and industrial competitiveness from a patent perspective，providing decision support for the high-quality development of Nantong's integrated circuit industry.[Methods] Utilizing patent analysis methods，a detailed examination was conducted on the industrial structure，talent reserve，patent operation status，and innovation capabilities of innovation entities within the integrated circuit industry in Nantong City.[Findings] Nantong has certain patent advantages in the field of packaging and testing technology，demonstrating strong technological innovation capabilities and market competitiveness.However，there is still significant room for improvement in the areas of chip design and carier tape manufacturing technology.[Conclusions] From reinforcing policy support，increasing investment in basic research，tackling key core technologies， strengthening talent introduction and cultivation，and enhancing intellectual property protection，effrts are being made to enhance the overall innovation capabilities of the integrated circuit industry and achieve sustainable industrial development.
