Abstract:Hydraulic oscillators are widely used in drilling of horizontal welsand extended-reach wels,to effectively solve the problem of backing pressure of pipe strings and improve drillng effciency.Aconventional hydraulicoscilator starts towork immediately afterit isrun in hole for circulation,with uncontrollale working stateand low effectiveservice life.To addressthis issue,acontrollable hydraulicoscillator is designed.This tool has two working states:vibrational,and dormant,which are switched bycontroling the rotation of the disc valve, and can meet the drilling needs under different conditions.The force during the movement of the disc valve was analyzed,and the disc valve movement mathematical model was built.Based on the analysisof the structure and working principle ofthetool,togetherwith the principleoffluid mechanics,theoutput performance of the tool was analyzed through examples,and a number of hydraulic structure parameters that have obvious effects on the oscillation frequencyand pressure drop of the tool were examined.The results show that the oscilation frequencyof the turbine-drivenhydraulicoscillatorisonlyrelated tothedisplacementofdrillingfluid,thatis,theoscillationfrequency increases with the increase of driling fluid displacement.The pressure dropof the tool increases with the increaseofdrillingfluiddisplacementanddensity,anddecreaseswith the increaseof the areaofthethrottleorifice on the mandrel sidewall.Theresearch findings are referentialfor the design and application of controllble hydraulic oscillators.
