Abstract：Inordertoexplorethefeasibilityoftheapplicationofpolyethylene（PE）andvegetableoilcompositemodifiedasphalt， theperformanceofPEvegetableoilcompositemodifiedasphalt wascomprehensivelyevaluatedbypenetration，ductility，softning point，Brinellrotationalviscosity，penetrationindex test，short-termageing testandThermogravimetricanalysisaalysistest. The results show that PE canreduce the penetration and ductility of the matrix asphalt，and improve the softening point and viscosity；Afteraddingvegetableoil，astheamountofvegetableoilincreases，tepenetrationandductilityofthecomposite modifiedasphaltgraduallyincrease，whilethesofteningpointandviscosityshowadecreasing trend.PEcanimprovethe temperature sensitivity of asphalt，but when the content of vegetable oil reaches 7% ，the PI value shows that its temperature sensitivityis worsethanthatofbaseasphalt.PEcanimprovethethermal oxygen ageingandthermaldecompositionpropertiesof asphalt，andanappropriate amount of vegetableoilcan further enhancetheoxygen agingresistanceof asphalt，withanoptimal dosage of 3% ．Astheamountof vegetableoil increases，the thermaldecomposition characteristicsof asphalt graduallydeteriorate.
