Application of digital specimen and virtual simulation in Forest Protection teaching

AbstractTocultivate highquality professionalsinthefieldof forest protection,thecurrent stateofdigital specimen and virtual simulation system development was explored,their effective integration into teaching practices for ForestProtection disciplines was investigated,and the methods for evaluating and providing feedback on teaching efctiveness were analyzed.Regarding development,physical specimensof insects and plant diseases canbe digitized to enableonline data diseminationand sharing.Virtual reality (VR)and augmented reality (AR) technologieswere utilized to simulate real-worldoperations and established virtual simulation systems.In terms of integratedapplication, the two tchnologies were combined and appliedto 3 teaching models: case-driven learning,project-based learning and practice,and interactive discussons.These approaches were exemplified through simulations of sampling,detection, andanalysis proceses forpine wilt disease,the designof pest monitoring and control projects,andtheuseof guiding or open-ended questions,highlighting the multidimensionaland highly interactive natureoftheteaching models.Interms of teaching efectivenessevaluationand feedback,basedontheeffctiveintegrationof twotechnologies,students' learning outcomes,learning participation,innovation andcolaboration abilitiesare evaluated,and good feedback evaluations are obtained from teachers and students.This study provides areferenceforthe reformof teaching inForest Protection and related disciplines.
