Effect of low back muscle exercise on nurses with occupational low back pain：systematic review and a Meta-analysis

Abstract Objective：To systematically evaluate the effect of low back muscle exercise on nurses with occupational low back pain.Methods：Randomized controlled trails on the effect of exercise on occupational low back pain were searched from CNKI，WanFang Database，VIP database，CBM，JBI，PubMed，EMbase，MedLine，Web of Science，CINAHL and the Cochrane Library.The retrieval time was from the inception to September 30，2023.Literature screening，data extraction，and literature quality evaluation were performed independently by 2 researchers.Then Stata 17.0 software was used for a Meta-analysis.Results：A total of 11 articles were included，including 664 nurses.The Meta-analysis results showed that the exercise could improve the VAS score of nurses（SMD=-3.47，95%CI ―4.89-―2.06，P＜0.001）.Exercises can improve nurses′ scores on the dysfunction scale（SMD=-2.42，95%CI ―4.55-―0.28，P=0.026）.Conclusion：Current evidence shows that the exercise of low back muscles can improve the pain and dysfunction of nurses with occupational low back pain.Due to the limitations of the number of included studies，the heterogeneity of intervention tasks and the large intervention time span，the above conclusions still need to be further verified by more high-quality clinical studies.
