[Abstract]Postoperative nausea and vomiting （PONV） are common complications that mainly occur within 24 h afterorthognathic surgery.The incidenceofnauseaandvomitingafterorthognathicsurgeryremains high and isadificult problem for patients and surgeons.Thesecomplicationsnot only afect wound healing and increase the risk of postoperative bleeding.Vomit and blood may alsocause nauseaandvomiting，whichresults inavicious cycle.Frequent nausea and vomiting area painful experienceand more serious than postoperative pain.They are one of the mainreasons for postoperative infection，delayed discharge，and increased hospitalizationcosts andaffectpatientsatisfaction.Inthis review，theauthorcombined literature reviewand clinicalexperienceand summarizedand analyzed the

causes of orthognathic nausea and vomitingand preventionand treatment strategies to improving the related clinical process.
