Abstract:As one of the core components of sand control pipe columns,the top packer is widely used in Bohai Oilfield,but its failureaffects operational eficiency.Forasmall number of wells that have not been able to recover the top packer through specialized tools,miling and salvage operations can effectively remove residual pipe columns underground to ensure subsequent operations.However, there are currently few successul cases of such operations.The engineering background of the failure of the packer in Well A1H of Bohai Oilfield and the practice of milling and salvage operations were introduced.The practical ideas for the mineafterthe packer failure were discussed,and the difficulties and improvement measures in miling operations were summarized. During the operation period,the entire milling process of Well A1H involved two drilling trips,with a total milling time of 19.5 h,a rate of penetration of 40~70r/min ,an additional weight on bit of 50~120kN ,and a milling footage of 1.55 m.By comparing the eficiency of milling operations in typical wells,experience in selecting drilling tools and optimizing driling parameters was proposed.The conclusion shows that the total time required for milling operations is relatively long,and the physical characteristics of diffrent operating parts are the main basis for selecting drilling parameters.In order to achieve a one - timecompletion ofmilling operations,it isnecessary to oflexibly adjust the milling parametersin the early stage of drilling to reduce the degree of gear miling wear.By optimizing operation parameters and tool combinations,the efficiency of milling operations can be significantly improved,and riskscan be reduced.The successful implementation of the top packer miling operation can provide references and ideas for subsequent related operations.
