The Stable Employment Effect of Social Credit System Construction： EmpiricalEvidencefromthePilotReformoftheSocialCreditSystem

Abstract：Thisarticlesystematically examines the impactof thesocial credit system constructiononcorporate labor employment byusing A-share non-financial listedcompanies inShanghai and Shenzhen from2O1Oto2O23as the research samples，regarding the pilot social credit system reform asa quasi-natural experiment，and employing a diffrence-in-differencesmodel.Acording to theresearch findings，thesocial creditsystem constructioncan significantly expand thescaleofcorporate labor employmentand playa policyrolein stabilizing employment.The mechanismanalysis shows thatthe financing constraint alleviation efect，theproduction scale expansion effct，and the transactioncostreduction effectare themainchannelsthrough which thesocial credit systemconstructionaffects the corporatelabor employment.The heterogeneityanalysisreveals thattheemployment stabilization efectofsocial credit systemconstruction ismore prominent inenterprises with lower governance level，labor-intensive enterprisesand sampleswith poorerregional legalenvironmentandlowerfinancialdevelopment level.Theextendedanalysis indicates thatthe social credit systemconstructionalsocontributes to improving the labor employment structure of enterprises and driving the human resource capital upgrade of enterprises.
