On the battleground， the smell of the gunpowder and the blood filled the air and there were a group of people who resolutely charged in front with cameras. At that moment， they were not only war correspondents but also warriors of the media who recorded the greed and cruelty of the invaders and portray the bravery of protectors. 2022 is the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. To commemorate it， we review the photography works shot by Zhejiang war correspondents in risk of their lives in 1930s. On this journey of “searching the read vein”， we think and discuss the meaning and value of the red images in the contemporary context.
