作者簡介：

瑪喬麗·皮克索爾（Marjorie Pickthall，1883—1922），加拿大女詩人、小說家、被譽為她那個年代“加拿大最偉大的詩人”。

Now in the West the slender1 moon lies low，

And now Orion 2 glimmers through the trees，

Clearing the earth with even pace and slow，

And now the stately-moving Pleiades，

In that soft infinite3 darkness overhead

Hang jewel-wise upon a silver thread4.

And all the lonelier stars that have their place，

Calm lamps within the distant southern sky，

And planet-dust upon the edge of space，

Look down upon the fretful5 world， and I

Look up to outer vastness6 unafraid

And see the stars which sang when earth was made.
