Selection and Application of Starting Methods for High-Power Loads in Ships

Abstract： The stability of ship power grids is a critical guarantee for safe ship operation. This paper systematicall analyzes the technical characteristics of starting methods for high-power loads，including direct starting，star-deltastarting，autotransformer starting，softstarting，andvariable frequency starting.Acomprehensive selectio method is proposed based on transient voltage drop verification，starting torque matching，and step-loading capability.Through a case studyofa specific ship type，the feasibilityoftheselected starting methods is validated， and a step-loading strategy for high-power loads across the entire ship is formulated.This research provides theoretical and practical references for ship power system design.
